Holy Knit Batman! It’s The Southern Cross Knitting Circle!

This is the perfect space – a large enclosed area with comfy couches and carpet to crawl around on! We have a professional massage therapist, offering up some relief for all of you hard-working parents! Every fortnight The Cross celebrates free theatre for children with either a puppet show & workshop, or an interactive production of a well known fairy tale from Playshop.

Today we have Fingal, our puppeteer master - she and her puppet friends have an exciting tale to tell, and their show will be followed by a puppet making workshop - just bring a sock and you could be leaving with a new puppet friend! 

Every other fortnight, on the second Saturday of the month, we host Playshop's interactive kids theatre productions, where the actors and kids recreate classic fairy tales, using dress ups, props and creative minds!

As per all our activities at The Cross, the shows are free, so come one come all, bring a friend or three and enjoy some fun theatre and stories. Shows start at 11am in our Guest Room so make sure you're in nice and early to secure a good spot.

These talented thespians will interact with all, groundlings to gallows, to ensure a lively and memorable evening. If we be waspish, best beware our sting.

In honour of the event, Garage Project will be treating us to a special charity batch of Ruffneck: an all new beer brewed just for this event. Full proceeds from the first keg will be going directly to SGCNZ, which will be pouring from a pop up bar in the Garden.

If you haven’t had a Stonegrill meal before you should try it out - your food is cooked by YOU, at your table, on a 400 degree Celsius volcanic rock, with no added fats or oils. Just like a mini BBQ, cooked to perfection because you cooked it!

Holy Knit Batman! It’s The Southern Cross Knitting Circle! 

Come join in – from beginners to experienced knitters. Now you can wile away the evening hours, stitch and bitch or flip the script and give Grandma a cardie next Christmas. Everyone welcome, young or old, blokes or ladies. Just bring down some wool and needles.

In honour of O'Week, we've teamed up with MAWSA - Massey Wellington Students' Association to bring you a special free outdoor movie night screening of The Princess Diaries!

On the third Monday of each month*, The Cross host Life Drawing Classes in the Guest Room, 7-9pm. *February's class has been rescheduled to Thursday the 25th of February, due to change in Covid alert levels. 

Come along and enjoy an evening of tutored life drawing with art facilitator ex-tra-or-di-naire Dan Wilkinson, artist and teacher at The Learning Connexion.

Every fortnight The Cross celebrates free theatre for children with either a puppet show & workshop, or an interactive production of a well known fairy tale from Playshop.

Today we have Fingal, our puppeteer master - she and her puppet friends have an exciting tale to tell, and their show will be followed by a puppet making workshop - just bring a sock and you could be leaving with a new puppet friend! 

Every other fortnight, on the second Saturday of the month, we host Playshop's interactive kids theatre productions, where the actors and kids recreate classic fairy tales, using dress ups, props and creative minds!

As per all our activities at The Cross, the shows are free, so come one come all, bring a friend or three and enjoy some fun theatre and stories. Shows start at 11am in our Guest Room so make sure you're in nice and early to secure a good spot.
