If you haven’t had a Stonegrill meal before you should try it out - your food is cooked by YOU, at your table, on a 400 degree Celsius volcanic rock, with no added fats or oils. Just like a mini BBQ, cooked to perfection because you cooked it!

Holy Knit Batman! It’s The Southern Cross Knitting Circle! 

Come join in – from beginners to experienced knitters. Now you can wile away the evening hours, stitch and bitch or flip the script and give Grandma a cardie next Christmas. Everyone welcome, young or old, blokes or ladies. Just bring down some wool and needles.

Hosted by the lovely Katharine from 2 Minute Needles, there'll always be someone there to show you some tricks and teach you the bits and bobs of knitting.

Monday nights at 7pm in our Lounge, first area on the right as you walk in the front doors.

On the third Monday of each month*, The Cross host Life Drawing Classes in the Guest Room, 7-9pm.

Come along and enjoy an evening of tutored life drawing with art facilitaor ex-tra-or-di-naire Dan Wilkinson, artist and teacher at The Learning Connexion.

$10 unwaged or $15 waged, no need to book, just bring some cash for the class and maybe a drink or two, and enjoy learning some new skills and creating an image of the human form. Materials are BYO, so bring whatever mediums you are most comfortable with.

There are limited spaces available and the class works on a first in first served basis, so try to get along early to nab yourself a spot before they all fill up.

Pop in on Thursday morning and we have a little something special for you. We dedicate our lovely Guest Room to parents and little ones. This is the perfect space – a large enclosed area with comfy couches and carpet to crawl around on! We have a professional massage therapist, offering up some relief for all of you hard-working parents! Enjoy a FREE 10 minute back, neck and shoulder massage while our lovely staff member takes your baby off your hands… heaven! Did we mention this is free?!

This quiz promises to put your knowledge of music to the test! You’ll need your ears to be in tip-top shape, as this quiz consists of short excerpts of songs being played to teams – guess the name and artist. Be prepared for a few of those “it’s-on-the-tip-of-my-tongue” moments. Themed rounds and guest rounds will throw a spanner in the works too! Vouchers and spot prizes up for grabs – every Thursday from 7pm.

Finish the week right and join us for two-for-one cocktails each Friday from 12 until 12. Take that long lunch, grab a work buddy or just bring your dog along* and settle in for an evening of fancy drinks and tiny umbrellas.

Every fortnight The Cross celebrates free theatre for children with either a puppet show & workshop, or an interactive production of a well known fairy tale from Playshop.

Today we have Fingal, our puppeteer master - she and her puppet friends have an exciting tale to tell, and their show will be followed by a puppet making workshop - just bring a sock and you could be leaving with a new puppet friend! 

Every other fortnight, on the second Saturday of the month, we host Playshop's interactive kids theatre productions, where the actors and kids recreate classic fairy tales, using dress ups, props and creative minds!

As per all our activities at The Cross, the shows are free, so come one come all, bring a friend or three and enjoy some fun theatre and stories. Shows start at 11am in our Guest Room so make sure you're in nice and early to secure a good spot.

Every week, WJC will feature a different house band, performing different jazz artists' compositions and music - and musicians are invited to bring along tunes by that artist to share and play.

Sunday 24th January we pay tribute to jazz trumpeter Harry ‘sweets’ Edison!
House band are Alexander Bolton (G), Umar Zakaria (B), Mark Lockett (D).

All are very welcome to sit in and we look forward to seeing you soon.
