If you haven’t had a Stonegrill meal before you should try it out - your food is cooked by YOU, at your table, on a 400 degree Celsius volcanic rock, with no added fats or oils. Just like a mini BBQ, cooked to perfection because you cooked it! 

This deal is available Monday and Tuesday, from 5.30pm onwards. We only have a limited number of stones (and they take a good few hours in the oven to heat back up) so they're only available on a first-in, first-served basis. Get in quick so you don't miss out!

Holy Knit Batman! It’s The Southern Cross Knitting Circle! 

Come join in – from beginners to experienced knitters. Now you can wile away the evening hours, stitch and bitch or flip the script and give Grandma a cardie next Christmas. Everyone welcome, young or old, blokes or ladies. Just bring down some wool and needles.

Hosted by the lovely Katharine from 2 Minute Needles, there'll always be someone there to show you some tricks and teach you the bits and bobs of knitting.

Oscar LaDell, 22, was born in the US and raised in Purakaunui, Dunedin. The second-generation bluesman started out playing blues standards in nightclubs around Dunedin, featuring songs by Muddy Waters, BB King and Guitar Slim. Over the years, funk, rock, soul, R&B and more have found their way into Oscar’s music.

In the space of one of LaDell’s original songs, the sound can range from a gentle slow dance to explosive and hypnotic guitar solos. Oscar’s powerful and expressive guitar playing and soulful singing act as one to create a sound that is both reminiscent of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s and fresh.

LaDell’s album “Gone Away”, released in July this year, will be followed in December (date TBD) by his second album “Love & Revolution.” The singer’s sophomore effort, recorded at Meadow Sounds Studios (www.meadowsounds.com) relies more heavily on R&B and psychedelia, building upon LaDell’s blues background.

Wellington Jazz Co-operative (WJC) presents Sunday Sessions at The Cross, weekly from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

WJC is an artist-run, non-profit project with a vision to provide a platform for creative musicians to present new, interactive and improvised music.

Every week, WJC will feature a different house band, performing different jazz artists' compositions and music - and musicians are invited to bring along tunes by that artist to share and play.

Sunday 6 December we pay tribute to legendary American saxophonist/composer Wayne Shorter.

House band are Luca Sturny (G), Ollie Boman (B), Mark Lockett (D).

All are very welcome and we look forward to seeing you soon!
